First class coaching facilities
We have a covered six-bay driving range using two-piece real feel golf balls, as well as an outdoor grass hitting area that we use during the summer months.
This can used for both coaching and is available for members and visitors to practice on also.
State-of-the-art practice area
Cirencester also boasts a state-of-the-art short game practice area and a putting green adjacent to the clubhouse that can be used for coaching, as a well as giving golfers a true representation of the condition and pace of the greens.
Golf Lessons at Cirencester Golf Club can include the use of Trackman Dual Radar Technology.
Playing lessons are also available on the course with all our PGA Professionals.

- Mitch Caunt – PGA Teaching Professional
Mitch is a fully qualified PGA Professional who first arrived as a member of the golf club back in 2010 and has now been a member our Professional staff for several years.
Mitch experienced a successful amateur career in which he began playing for Gloucestershire from the age of 13, experiencing a good standard of golf in competitive situations on various courses all around the South West Region and South Wales. He also was part of the 6 man Hartpury Golf College Team that went on to win the British College Championships in 2013 before eventually turning professional off a scratch handicap.
Mitch now devotes all his time to coaching and developing the golf games of both members and visitors of Cirencester Golf Club.
During his both his course and range coaching lessons, Mitch strongly tries to implement a stronger mental state in all his players combined with improving technical aspects to result in improved performance levels.

- James Tuck - PGA Advanced Teaching Professional
James is a qualified PGA Advanced Golf Professional, and has been awarded his Advanced Status for his Continued Professional Development in Coaching and his services to Coaching county squads.
James is currently the Gloucestershire Golf Union Under 16 Performance Coach and a Trackman 4 owner with Trackman University qualifications.
During his 23-year career as a PGA Professional James has been fortunate to work alongside, learn from, and work for some of the worlds top golf coaches both in Europe and America.
This has given James a great understanding of how different students learn, how different coaches teach, and most importantly how each golfer has their own personal and best way to play golf.
His knowledge gained over the years has made him understand how people learn new motor skills, how the body works and moves to create an effective, personal golf swing; coupled with how the mind produces results under pressure, allowing him to get the best out of each individual client he coach’s.
His client list is varied and he has experience coaching minor tour players, county first team players, fellow PGA professionals, county junior squad players, club golfers, and total beginners.
Every single person he has taught/coached has been treated individually and had their own personal coaching goals met.

- James Harraway – PGA Professional & Junior Lead Coach
James joined the Professional Staff in 2011, having turned Pro in 2005 off a handicap of +1, and is also the Operations Manager here at Cirencester Golf Club.
As well as his role in management, his extensive coaching roles and responsibilities include Trackman junior coaching, Gloucestershire County Academy coaching, School coaching in the local community, GirlsGolfRocks coaching ambassador, as well as being the lead coach for the Cirencester Cobras Junior Academy.
James is keen to keep things simple and effective when he coaches young golfers of any ability, age or experience, and works very much on the basic fundamentals to maximise their performance, as well as ensuring all sessions include drills and a competitive, fun element.

- Ryan Dix - PGA ProfessionalRyan began his career as a PGA Professional in 2011 at Cirencester Golf Club. After two years of PGA training, he moved to The Vale Golf and Country Club as Head PGA Assistant Professional. Just 18 months later, he was promoted to Head PGA Professional, becoming one of the youngest Head Professionals in the UK at the time. During his tenure, Ryan spent a further two years managing a successful retail operation and coaching golfers of all abilities, from complete beginners to professionals.He then took on the role of Head PGA Professional at Tony Valentine Golf Centre in Swindon, where he worked for nearly two years, before being invited to join Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort as Senior PGA Professional and Retail & Custom Fitting Manager.Ryan has completed numerous coaching courses to continually develop his expertise and believes that correct setup is the key fundamental in unlocking every golfer’s potential. By first establishing a solid foundation, he is able to identify each player’s individual characteristics and swing faults, ensuring the most effective changes are made for maximum improvement. Every lesson is supported by Flightscope launch monitor data and V1 Golf video analysis, allowing Ryan to deliver a thorough and precise coaching experience.

He played his amateur golf at nearby Lilley Brook Golf Club in Cheltenham as a junior and adult for 17 years before turning Professional.Jamie is keen to learn as much about the golf swing as possible and how to maximize physical performance within people’s capability.
