Hopegood Hammers the field

Junior member Luke Hopegood played in his first Junior open in the half term holidays at Lilley Brook Golf Club, and left the 60 + competitiors wondering where this superstar had emerged from.  Luke fired a nett 57 (-12) to win not only his own category but the whole thing.  Considering Luke had never even seen the golf course until that day, it was a remarkable performance, and one the handicap secretary will be sure to reward with a few shots coming off his handicap.  Well done again Luke, and keep up the good work

Junior Match's.

The team has continued to keep up their undefeated form at home with a win over Cotswold Hills 5, 1.  They also managed to get a well deserved draw at Lilley Brook which now puts us in a great position to win the league.  A win versus South Cerney at home, will then leave us with a chance to win the title if we can get a result at the return leg away at South Cerney.  The boys this year have performed fantastic, with notable mention, the captain Kyle Outram who was undefeated until his last game.

Well Done again boys, keep up the practice

Junior Match 11/04/10.

The first junior match of the year took place on Sunday the 11th of April.

The team of Kyle Outram, Paul Alexander, George and Jack Peare, Jack Brown and Luke Hopegood performed extremely well capturing a 4 2 victory to start the season off in fine style.  Kyle played the Captains role well,  going off first and securing a victory for the team.  Further wins for Paul and George, guaranteed at least a half.   It was then down to Jack Peare to bring home the victory by coming from 2 down to secure a 1up victory,  Notable mention to Luke Hopegood on his debut playing outstanding but just being pipped 3 and 2 in the end.  Finally to Jack Brown who came up againts, a Lee Westweood in disguise, the young Lilley Brook junior made 8 pars and a birdie in 12 holes playing off 17 handicap, but he did make an outstanding speech, remembering to thank everyone, and keeping it short and sweet, so we were able to get away to watch the Masters.

Well done again Boys.
